Beverly's obituary
Beverly was born October 28, 1939 to Harold “Olee” Carlstrom and his wife Jeanette, née Helphand, in Kansas City, Kansas. The family moved to Los Angeles, California in about 1943.
Beverly graduated from Dorsey High School. She had a long, well-respected career in personal lines insurance. She was a highly intelligent lady who loved to read. She was a gifted artist, creating drawings and paintings to display in her home. But her passions did not stop there. Beverly was a highly skilled dancer. She and her husband Dan belonged to several square dancing clubs. Together, they had years of fun dancing and being with friends. Crowds often cleared a circle on the dance floor for Beverly and Dan, cheering their talents from the sidelines.
Beverly poured her heart into appreciating and caring for animals. She was an avid fan of thoroughbred horse racing and she always kept pet cats to adore.She left behind four of her feline friends: Salem, Beyoncé, Indiana and Lily.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Daniel Gray in 2010. Beverly is survived by her dear sister Rose Carlstrom of North Hollywood, two children, Jean Harkness Stanwood (Mike) of Canoga Park, CA and John Harkness (Brenda) of Jarrell, TX. Beverly is also survived by five grandchildren: Patryck Stanwood, Amanda Stanwood, Shelby Harkness, Richard Harkness and Lorna Harkness as well as one great-grandchild, Xachary Stanwood.
