Beverly's obituary
Beverly Anne Gilkeson, 88, of Brownstown, Michigan passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024.
Born in East Tawas, Michigan to Emanuel and Iris (Schenck) Falkenberg, she grew up in Detroit in the Catallo Homes. She attended Hunter School and graduated from Lowrey School in 1954.
While raising six children, she kept an impeccable home. She somehow found time to sew their clothes, run the family business, become a private pilot, supervise the Mail Room at Oakwood Hospital, drive a Harley, and get licensed to drive an 18-wheeler. She dearly loved animals and started a Humane Society rescue. Beverly had a wonderful laugh, a zest for life, was very generous, and made the world a much more beautiful place.
She was predeceased by her parents and husbands, Dale Gooch, Edward Barron, and John Gilkeson. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Gary Falkenberg, and daughters, Kimberly (Kerry) White, Kathy (Kevin) Mullins, Belinda Groh, Julie (Bob) Reiter, Dyna Barron, and Rene (Brian) Louis, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity benefiting animals.
