Betty's obituary

Betty Wilkes, born on May 21, 1957, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2023. A sharp-witted woman known for her stubborn yet fun-loving spirit, Betty leaves behind a legacy of nurturing family traditions that will resonate for generations to come.

Betty is survived by her husband Ronald Wilkes, her loving daughter Daria Cody, and her cherished grandchildren, Brittany Wilkes, Landon Wilkes, Dylan Cody, Hayden Cody,  Tyler Wilkes and great grandson, Wyatt.  She is also survived by her son-in-law Dale Cody, her sisters Jolene Laccone, Pat Courtwright and lifelong best friend, Karen Vitelli.

Betty was predeceased by her son Dennis Wilkes as well as her parents Betty Lou and Leroy Barrett. She also joins her siblings Sharlene Luddington, Leroy Barrett, Nancy Castings, Joanne Nuzzo, Edward Barrett, Joseph Barrett, William Barrett, Mary Margaret Gregoire, and Charles Barrett in eternal peace.

In the year 2000, Betty embarked on a fulfilling career at Florida Testing & Environmental, Inc. She often brought her hard-headed yet sarcastic humor into the workplace, bringing smiles and laughter to her colleagues' and clients faces, much like she did for her loved ones at home.

Those who knew Betty were touched by her resolute determination, loyalty, quick wit, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures. She turned ordinary moments into fond memories, and her spirit continues to inspire her family to celebrate life and cherish one another. Betty's enduring love and resilient spirit remain as a guiding light for her family, ensuring the traditions she held dear live on.
