Betty Lou Vickery, 77, of Leitchfield, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Spring View Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born April 6, 1944, in Caneyville, to her parents, Daymon Ray and Elizabeth Bell Embry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Vickery; a daughter, Dana Marie Crask; her beloved twin sister, Barbara Sue Embry; and her four siblings, Nina Embry, Dallas Embry, Darrel Embry and Franklin Embry. Betty deeply cared for her loved ones and always was there for those in need.

Survivors include her four children, Robert Clifton Crask, Lori Ann Higdon, Joseph Yates and Robert Dale Yates; her sister, Kathleen Hymer; 12 grandchildren, along with some remarkably close family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her for her strength and courage she had throughout her life. She always was creative and wrote many stories and enjoyed painting. She never let anything get her down and always bounced right back.

A small memorial service/celebration of life to honor Betty is at noon Saturday, July 17 at 12164 New Glendale Road in Sonora. If anyone wants to send food to the family, please contact 270-307-2667. We all know how Betty loved her food.
