Betty's obituary

In Loving Memory of Betty Joan Teasdale

Sunrise December 30, 1956

Sunset January 23, 2026

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Betty Joan Teasdale, at the age of 69.

Betty was born on December 30, 1956, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at Beyer Hospital to John Edward and Dorothy Ann Teasdale. She grew up in Ypsilanti and later moved to Belleville during high school. Betty carried herself with grace, quiet strength, unwavering faith, and a heart that made everyone feel at home. She was also wonderfully funny, joyful, and outgoing.

A graduate of Belleville High School, Betty participated in marching band, played the flute, and performed in theater, including The Unsinkable Molly Brown. She went on to attend Michigan State University as a music major, where she sang beautifully in multiple languages, including German and French.

Soon after college, she met the love of her life, Marvin Driscal. Together they were blessed with triplet daughters—Rebecca, Melissa, and Jennifer, as well as step daughter Aliceia. Betty and Marvin devoted themselves to teaching the girls faith, kindness, forgiveness, and the love of Jesus.

Betty worked at Spring Arbor Distributors before becoming a music, choir, and flute teacher at West Middle School, where she taught for six years and was deeply loved by students and staff. She later worked at NSF International and retired when her first granddaughter, Arianna Noel, was born in 2012. Her second granddaughter, Isabella Maria, was born in 2022, bringing her even more joy.

Betty loved serving the Lord, singing in church, and leading worship. She attended Faith Assembly, Kingdom Life Church of God, Victorious Life Church, and River of Life Assembly of God over the years. Her faith was the foundation of her life.

In her later years, Betty was lovingly cared for by her daughters and granddaughter during her illness. She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Lynn Driscal, Melissa Dawn Driscal, Jennifer Marie Driscal, and Aliceia Nasayia Kae Driscal; her cherished grandchildren Arianna Noel Pankey and Isabella Maria Fletes; her sister Mary Greenwood and sister Kathleen LaSalla; along with her brother John Teasdale. She was preceded in death by her parents John Teasdale and Dorothy Teasdale; her sister Sharon Pietras, and her beloved partner Marvin Driscal.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she is resting in the arms of her Heavenly Father. Her love continues to guide us, her song lives on in our hearts, and her legacy will never fade.

A memorial service will be held at River of Life Assembly of God, 16650 Sumpter Rd, Belleville, MI 48111, on Saturday, March 14, at 12:00 p.m., with a Zoom option available. If you would like to donate flowers please send them to the address listed above.
