Betty's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Betty Pope, who was born on April 27, 1934, and left us on July 19, 2023. Betty was a beacon of kindness and warmth, always giving of herself to those around her. Her vibrant personality and honorable nature will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Betty is survived by her loving husband, Robert Pope, whom she married back in 1953. Their life-long love story was a testament to dedication and companionship. Betty is also survived by her children and grandchildren: her son, Joseph Fulton, her granddaughters, Lydia Vescey, Keli Pope, Jenny Pruir; and grandson, Michael Fulton. Betty's sisters, Nancy Pope and Jessica Pruir, will also remember her fondly. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Pope, and her parents, Jeanne and William Pope.

After a fulfilling career, Betty retired in 1995. In her free time, she loved to read, and one could often find her buried in a good book. Betty enjoyed playing dominos, producing many lively and competitive family game nights. Her favorite vacation spot was Florida, where she enjoyed the sunshine and warm beaches. Purple, the color of royalty, was Betty's favorite—fitting for a woman who was queen of our hearts.

A connoisseur of life’s simple pleasures, Betty loved nothing more than a good homemade meatloaf and mashed potatoes, accompanied by her favorite drink, sweet tea. She had an innate love for all creatures and was a strong supporter of the Humane Society. Betty always advised her loved ones to "be kind to everyone," a teaching that mirrored her life beautifully.

Betty's life was marked by love, kindness, and an undying spirit of generosity. Her memory will be cherished always, and her influence will continue to be felt by the following generations. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
