Betty Jane Murphy of Royal Oak, MI, passed away peacefully in her home on May 13th, 2023, at the age of 82. She was born on July 29th, 1940, in McLeansboro, IL, and was the second oldest of four children. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Alonzo Clyde Murphy, parents Carl Burnett and Ella Myrtle Burnett, brother John Burnett, and sisters Karla Jo Chappo and Patricia Hunt.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Heather Murphy (Leo Moschouris), grandson Jack Raymond, and many loving nephews, nieces, and family members. Betty was most known for her many talents and warm, gentle personality. She loved spending time with family and friends, quilting, scrapbooking, and reading. Betty was the most caring, adoring, and kindest soul, and absolutely everybody that knew her will miss her.

As per her wishes, she will be cremated, and a private memorial will be planned for the summer.

In lieu of flowers, Betty would hope you reach out to an old friend to grab a cup of coffee, or tell somebody close to you that you love them.
