Betty's obituary

Betty Michels (Taylor), a loving and gentle soul, passed away on January 21, 2023. She was born on March 7, 1941, in the serene mountain town of Idaho Springs, Colorado.

Betty will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm-hearted nature, and the ability to bring joy to others. As a graduate of Idaho Springs High School in 1957, she was a pillar of strength and inspiration to her classmates, friends, and family alike.

Crafting beautiful quilts, tending to her flourishing garden, and preserving nature's bounty through canning were just a few of the many hobbies that Betty immersed herself in throughout her life. Her passion for these crafts brought comfort and happiness not just to her, but those who were fortunate enough to experience her creations.

Betty was a genuinely grateful and funny individual, never failing to show her appreciation for the people and experiences in her life. Her humor and warmth touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was a beacon of love, happiness, and kindness that will be sorely missed by her countless loved ones. Betty is survived by her loving children, Raymond (Nancy), Charlotte (Richard), Randy (Sharon) and Kandise. 10 wonderful grandchildren, Joshua (Katherine), Angela (Matt), Kasey, Jennifer (Jerry), Holly (Daniel), Samatha (Bobby), Cody (Claudia), Justin (Nikki), Brandon (Mikayla), Beth (Nate) and 17 marvelous great-grandchildren whose lives have been profoundly impacted by the unwavering love and wisdom there mother, grandmother and great-grandmother provided.

As we mourn the loss of Betty Michels (Taylor), we also celebrate the lasting impact she has left on her family, friends, and community. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will be remembered as a guiding light in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Betty's memory may consider making a donation to a local quilting or gardening group, as a testament to her passion for these hobbies.
