Betty's obituary

Betty Ann McIntyre of Grand Blanc, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14, 2020. Betty was born in Flint, Michigan on March 24, 1943 to Retha and Oren Jennings. She married her beloved Richard on August 23, 1969. Betty and Richard enjoyed traveling: visiting grandkids in Texas and spending winters at their home in Boca Raton, Florida, but always loved returning home to their friends and family in Grand Blanc. Her career with General Motors and her love for singing in the church choir enabled her to touch many lives. Betty always lit up the room with her huge smile and big personality. She never met a stranger and could be found happily chatting up a new unsuspecting friend- inviting them to church on Sunday or proudly sharing stories about her family. Betty is remembered fondly for hosting wonderful parties, her impeccable taste in fashion and decorating, the enthusiasm she shared for University of Michigan football, and for her unique ability to make all of her friends feel like family. Above all, Betty loved her family and her Lord. Her greatest joy was her faith in Jesus Christ and bringing others to know and love Him.

Betty is survived by her brother, Wendell (Paula) Jennings of Grand Blanc; aunt, Anna Mae Chesser of Pocahontas, AR; four step-children, Mel McIntyre and Michael (Stacye) McIntyre of Dallas, TX, Matthew (Kim) McIntyre of Plano, TX and Mary Lynne McIntyre of Coppell, TX; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents Retha and Oren Jennings; and big brother Jerry.

A virtual Memorial Service will take place in the coming weeks. Please visit https://everloved.com/life-of… to share memories of Betty and for details on the service. A private burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions in Betty’s memory to Central Church of the Nazerene (http://centralnazarene.com/gi…) or Wreaths Across America (https://donate.wreathsacrossa…) Our deepest gratitude to the staff at Bella Vita Senior Living and Mid-Michigan Home Health & Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
