Betty's obituary
Betty Jones, a kind, caring, and sweet woman, entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2025. She was born on January 30, 1945, to the late Helen and Howard Smith. Betty is remembered with love by her daughter Helen Whitehead, and her grandsons Edward and Ross Jones. Her memory will also live on through her step-son Edward Jones, granddaughter Ashley Whitehead, and grandson Sean Whitehead.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Jones Jr., who she married in 1969, and her granddaughter Brianna Whitehead. Her brothers Howard, Richard, and Joseph Smith also preceded her in death.
As a proud graduate of Woodstown High School in 1965, Betty was a lifelong learner and avid reader. Her favorite recreational activities included crochet, cross-stitch, and crossword puzzles that kept her mind sharp.
Betty had a particular affection for music, and her favorites included The Mama's and the Papa's, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and Carly Simon. She also enjoyed watching her favorite TV show, Dark Shadows, and cherished films like The Mummy, Arsenic and Old Lace, and The Shadow. One of her happiest pastimes was playing Bingo with her friends and family.
She often reminisced about vacationing in California, one of her favorite places to visit. Her love of coffee was well-known among her family and friends, often serving as a comforting and familiar presence in her daily routines.
Betty's legacy is one filled with kindness and care, which was evident in her dealings with everyone she met. Her loss is deeply felt by her family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. As we bid her our final goodbyes, we take comfort in knowing that her life was filled with love and understanding, and her memory continues to shine bright in our hearts.
