We recently said goodbye to my mother Betty Murray. As complicated as the quilts she sewed, she was orderly yet expansive and adaptable. She taught by example and lived her life trying to be the kind of person she wanted to see in others. Do whatever it takes. Just keep trying when things get tough. But mostly she wanted to see people be kind and take care of each other.

We held a small gathering of friends and family at our home in Lafayette where we could display her quilts and have my dad present as he cannot leave the house.
