Betty's obituary
Betty Jean Lewis, 78, passed on February 05, 2023. She was born to David Walker Stone and Beth Ann Stone on April 04, 1944.
She married Willie Dean Lewis in 1960 and they lived together in Belzoni, Mississippi. Betty never finished Elementary school because he has to start work early to assist her parents with their bills. Together they raised 2 children Walter Lewis (Dianne Lewis), Evelyn Lewis Miller (Mitchel Harrington Miller). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
Betty did not have much family; the church was Betty's family. She was an only child and most of her family had passed when she was a child. She was a stay-at-home mother therefore, she never had to work and was always with her children. Betty was a strong member of the congregation at Shiloh Deovelente Missionary Baptist Church. Betty will forever be missed.
Betty requested a small intimate service with just family. However, please share your memories of Betty with us. Thank you Cordale Weathersby, Chris Taylor, Jeremy Lewis, Matthew Macullum, and Tobias Green for being the Paul Bearer and carrying her with care and love.
To our beloved friends and extended family, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the many words of comfort, kindness, and prayers shown towards us during this difficult time of sorrow. May God richly bless each of you. The Family

We Had a Wonderful Mother
By an Unknown Author
We had a wonderful mother, One who never really grew old; Her smile was made of sunshine, And her heart was solid gold;
Her eyes were as bright as shining stars, And in her cheeks fair roses you see.
We had a wonderful mother, And that’s the way it will always be.
But take heed, because she’s still keeping an eye on all of us, So let’s make sure She will like what she sees.
Weep Not For Me
By an Unknown Author
Weep not for me though I have gone Into that gentle night Grieve if you will, but not for long Upon my soul’s sweet flight
I am at peace, my soul’s at rest There is no need for tears For with your love I was so blessed For all those many years
There is no pain, I suffer not The fear is now all gone Put now these things out of your thoughts. In your memory I live on
Remember not my fight for breath Remember not the strife Please do not dwell upon my death But celebrate my life
