Betty's obituary
We come to you with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Betty Annette Hollis. Born on September 24, 1953, in Missouri, Betty's beautiful soul was called home on September 17, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, following a sudden, valiant battle with cancer.
Betty was a beacon of warmth and the epitome of hospitality. She loved to cook, working in the culinary industry during her younger years, and eventually opening her own restaurant- Betty's Little Café. Her achievements transcended her professional life, as she was cherished for hosting the best holiday gatherings, being a great listener, and her devotion to her family.
Betty's family was her world. Married to James Hollis, a man who treated her like the treasure she was, Betty had many years of happiness. She was a mother not only to her biological children—Robert Brown, Sylena King—as well as her oldest grandson, Jared Brooks. She held dear the memory of her late son, Fred Brown, who surely welcomed her with open arms when the Lord called her Home. She also extended her motherly love to many who were not related by blood. Her affection knew no bounds, and this extended to her grandchildren, Laryssa, Mason, Brailen, Colton, and her adored great-grandchildren Rosemary, Sonny, Nicholas, Sarah, and Sebastian.
Betty's interests painted the picture of a woman who cherished life's simple pleasures. She had a green thumb that made her flowers bloom as brightly as her smile. Her home was always beautifully decorated and she never could turn down a good shopping trip to Big Lots or Garden Ridge.
Those who knew Betty would say she was the embodiment of love, generosity, and gentleness. She made everyone around her feel loved, seen, and valued. The love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she has left behind. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered as a light in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Betty’s funeral services will be held Wednesday September 25th, at 11am. It will take place at Brown’s Family Funeral: 416 E Broadway, McLoud, Oklahoma, 74851
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, September 24th from 12pm-8pm at the funeral home.
