Wow I am so sorry for your loss. My name is Carlos Velazquez. I was part of the Salvation Army in bay ridge in my youth. I grew up with Captain Sidney Anderson and Betty. My brother and I were very well known by them. They were so great with us. I remember when we started in Bay Ridge it first was a house then they built the building that is there now. We also went to a little building in 98 th street there we held services and were there till they built the one in 86 th street. Those were really good old days. We helped a lot there. I even did my confirmation with them. If I am not mistaken my picture is still on the wall in that classroom. In 86 th street. I remember when they had there two boys the older boy is David and the youngest is James. I don’t know if they had any other kids. Because we left Brooklyn in 1982. I have gone a bunch of times but never saw anybody. I hope one day I can see Major Anderson. Some day. He was so good to us. We where Boy Scouts we used to go every Sunday to Sunday school. My condolences to the Anderson family Betty hope you’re in our lords arms because you were really a great person those pictures that I saw were how I remember her. RIP. Hope to hear from you guys soon. I will be looking for you guys soon to give you my information so we can meet some day soon my brother lives in Brooklyn may be he can see you guys sooner. His name is David Velazquez.
