Betty's obituary
We note with profound sadness the passing of Betty Delaune, a beloved mother, family member, and friend, who left this world on January 29, 2025. She was born on July 11, 1947, to Myrtle and Teddy Siebrandt, both of whom predeceased her. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her, including her daughter Jennifer Leonard, son Kevin Delaune, son-in-law Kent Leonard, and extended family members Mami, Brad, Charlie, and Noah Mixon.
Betty was also a "second mom" to many of her daughters friends, especially, Trudy, Julie, Laure', Jane and Angela. She loved all of "her girls" very much
Those who knew Betty will remember her for her sweet and thoughtful nature, always gifted with a smile. Her love for her family and friends was limitless, often reflected in her enthusiasm for shopping for them. Her home was a sanctuary of comfort, filled with the aroma of her favorite foods, boiled crabs and fried oysters, and the sound of her laughter echoing around the corners.
Betty's passions extended beyond her kitchen. She was an avid reader, especially of cheap romance novels, and could always be found with a book in one hand and her iPad in the other. Her heart held a special place for animals, and she was involved in animal rescue causes.
A devoted hobbyist, Betty's pastimes included sewing and reading, sights of her engrossed in these activities becoming enduring memories for her loved ones. The color blue, her favorite, reflected her personality – calming, steady, and reliable.
Betty's legacy is one of kindness and thoughtfulness, which she spread abundantly throughout her lifetime. Her infectious cheer and warmth will be profoundly missed, not only by her human counterparts but also by her furry grandpup T-Marco. Our beloved Betty, you have left our sights but will forever remain in our hearts. Your spirit continues to inspire us, and your memory will forever be a beacon of love and kindness.
