So sad to hear of the passing of Betty cook, would loved to have meet her with my wife Katherine. However never got the chance. She will be missed.
My condolences to the cook family.
Dear cousin Kim & family, My heart is saddened for you. I know how hard it is to lose a Mom to death. Take a day at a time, and hold your memories close to you... they are so special. Lean on supportive friends for comfort. A verse that gives me continual comfort is : Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” I am looking forward to a time with no more pain & sorrow.
With heartfelt sympathy.

Aunt Betty is the reason my Mom & Dad met. I did not spend a lot of time with Aunt Betty, but when I did, she displayed kindness and warmth.
It was a privilege to connect my dad and her together by zoom 2 weeks ago. They were both so happy to see each other. It is a special memory.

Betty was always a very kind and sweet girl. We were first cousins, about the same age, and I have fond memories of growing up in the same neighborhood in the Beaches area of Toronto.

When we (the Keen family) moved out into the countryside, the Groves family (parents Charlie and Gladys plus all four kids) would often pay us a surprise visit on the farm, and they were always welcome and a lot of fun.

I'm sure that Betty's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will miss her dearly. She was a true gem.

Rest in peace, Betty.

Your cousin, Iris Uriarte (nee Keen)

My mom loved horses so much a…
My mom loved horses so much and I wanted to make sure she could see a horse once again. If she couldn't go out to see a horse, I brought the horse to her. I called a friend of mine at a horse rescue and she told me that we could make that happen. When you have great friends, you can get it done. Mom had no idea and I had no idea which horse was coming. Brenda Thompson from Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue showed up with her team after a long drive and they brought the horse up to our front steps and right into the living room where mom sat in her chair. My mom was crying when she saw this horse just walk right in and walked right up to her and stood in front of her and never moved. The horse was there in that exact same position for a half-hour or so. She just seemed to know exactly what she was there for. Mom leaned forward and grabbed the horse's face and just whispered in conversation with this special girl. In the end, mom kept saying the words, 'Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.'' Special moments I will never forget with the help of a very dear friend, Brenda Thompson @whhrescue, I could never have made this dream come true without you! God bless you, Brenda ❤ 🙏#horsesofinstagram #preciousmoments #heartstrings #hearts #love #makingdreamscometrue

Kim, John and family, I have known Betty for a short three years and she will always have a special place in my heart. We enjoyed many hours together often watching her favourite movies and talking quietly. She was such a gentle soul. Betty was always expressing what wonderful caregivers she had in Kim and John. Mocha was her friend spending time with her to keep her company. A favourite quote I want to share is "IN ALL THAT I WAS, I AM IN THE BEAUTY OF MY CHILDREN".
Thank you for inviting me to journey with Betty.

Betty was at all times one of my dearest relatives. She was sweet, kind and accepted life as it came to her. She was never a complainer or had a bad word for anyone. Her concern was always her Children and she worked hard all her life. I regret not having seen her for a number of years but I always had her in my thoughts. She made Nancy happy when they communicated before Nancy's death. She is with Nancy now and she will always be in my memories. I was able to talk to her a few weeks ago. She will never be forgotten and was loved by all. Be happy till we meet again. Love, Bud

I was able to care for Betty for several years as a psw. She was always a bright smile even at 7am when I was getting her out of bed. She was the kindest soul and would never have hurt a fly. She loved animals- dogs, birds and especially her lap dog Mocha.
From the time I met her to when they moved she made amazing improvements that most 89 year olds wouldn’t have been able to make, she had such strong will and determination.
I loved her love for her family, friends and chocolate. Always loved her chocolate pudding.
She will be missed by everyone that she’s ever met.
