Betty's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty  Alday Butler Sims, who peacefully departed this life and gained her angel wings on October 15, 2023. Born on January 13, 1939, Betty lived her life with the heart of an angel and the spirit of a warrior, touching many lives with her kindness and generosity.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Boyd Sims, her adored son, David Michael Butler, and her sisters, Barbara Bidwell and Patsy Holsumback. She is survived by her loving daughter, Teresa Butler,  adored son Kenny Butler and daughter in law Pam Butler, who will continue to honor her legacy. Her loss leaves a void in the family that will be hard to fill, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she has left behind.

Betty was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. She was a proud graduate of Lively education and was passionate about sharing her knowledge of etiquette gardening. Her life lessons, imparted with love and wisdom, will live on in the individuals she influenced.

With a heart of gold and a spirit strong as steel, Betty was a beacon of love and strength to everyone who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire and guide us. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that her loved ones will treasure forever, a testament to a life well-lived.

She will be deeply missed by many, remembered for her unwavering strength, enduring love for her family, and her steadfast humility. Rest in peace, Betty, your spirit remains with us, steadfast and bright, guiding us like a beacon in the night.
