Betty's obituary
Betty was born on December 19, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Eugene E. & Cecilia H. (Bodzick) Johnson. She graduated from River Forest High School in 1968. On May 2, 1970 she married David Joel Brown, and they had 2 children.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley. She is survived by her husband Dave, her daughter Deanna (Richard) Brown of Greenback, TN and her son David A. Brown of Portage, IN; 5 grandchildren, CJ (Amanda) Vanover, Justin (Elizabeth Hicke) Vanover, Ashley (Colton) Ponser, Tiffani (Austin) Sasse, Brett Brown; and 7 great grandchildren, Meagan, Charles, Hunter, Noah, Sophie, Abigail, and Olivia.
Betty worked at her mother’s store, Johnson’s Grocery, in Lake Station, IN. She was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Church in Portage, IN. She was passionate about gardening and loved to be outside in her yard. She loved to cook and always made everyone’s favorite dishes. She was devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loving and kindhearted and was always wanting to help others. She never met a stranger.
At Betty’s request, no services will be held. Condolences may be sent to 445 Water View Dr., Rockwood, TN 37854.
