Betty's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Arreola, a beloved matriarch, sister, and friend, on September 6, 2025. Born on May 15, 1955, Betty lived a vibrant and meaningful life.
She is survived by her heartbroken daughters, Lorraine Figueroa, Stephanie Fernandez, and Pearl Kelley. Betty was also a proud grandmother to Rachel Figueroa, Jaden Kelley, Carlos Figueroa, Jacob Figueroa, Benjamin Figueroa, Renae Fernandez, Amazaya Fernandez, Angelina Fernandez, Alyvia Fernandez, Addalyn Fernandez, Arina Fernandez, Isiah Kelley, Samuel Kelley, and Atarah Kelley.
She is survived by her siblings Mary Sanchez, Maggie Anderson, Sophie Tadeo, Albert Alvarez, and Carmen Tovar, and her sons in law Daniel Fernandez, Anthony Figueroa, and Joshua Kelley. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carlos Arreola, their son Carlos Manual Arreola, her siblings George Alvarez, Carlos Alvarez, and Robert Alvarez, and her nephews Joe Alvarez, Carlos M Alvarez, and George Alvarez Jr., and niece Cerina Alvarez.
Betty met her husband in 1969 and they built a wonderful life together. They married in 1973 and were blessed with their children and grandchildren. Her joy was further amplified by her great-grandchildren, who were born between 2018 and 2024.
Remembered for her love of Law & Order SVU, Little House on the Prairie, Criminal Minds, and Andy Griffith, Betty’s repertoire of interests was vast. Aside from television, she enjoyed dancing, knitting, shopping and singing. She was often seen in local spots such as the Walmart and swap meet, always with a big smile and an open heart.
With a penchant for Tacos, baby Ruth’s, circus peanuts, root beer, and Tequila, Betty was a gastronome at heart. She often played The Temptations in the background as she knitted or enjoyed her meals.
Betty had a colorful personality, best described as funny and stubborn. She believed in resilience and shared lessons of faith and strength with her loved ones. Her greatest accomplishment, she often said, was her family – and she leaves behind a legacy of resilience, faith, and the ability to enjoy life to the fullest.
Betty’s spirit, determination, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her impact on people was larger than she could have ever imagined. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she led and honor her spirit in our own lives.
