January 18, 1939 – January 23, 2026

Betty Ann Cook, 87 passed away on January 23, 2026, at her home in Meridian, Idaho. She was born on January 18, 1939, to Pat and Alice Burtch in Caldwell, Idaho.

She will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, her love of her family and friends and her love of books, games and the English language.

Life

Betty grew up in Caldwell and Notus, Idaho and attended Caldwell High School and graduated from Notus High School in 1956. She was very passionate about her home state of Idaho and was an active member of Native Daughters of Idaho, the Caldwell High School group and the Notus Lunch bunch.

She married Larry Dean Cook in 1958. They raised their family while moving for work to New York, Idaho Falls, California and finally settling back in Idaho. All these moves created opportunities for new adventures and more importantly a rich and diverse group of friends of which Betty was so grateful.

She was an avid volunteer at the local schools and at multiple hospitals over the years in California, Idaho Falls and Meridian. She also loved to travel and visited much of the United States and Canada, but also Australia, New Zealand, Africa, and Europe.
