Betty's obituary

Betty Lou Anderson, 89, of Red Wing , died on Friday, July 8th 2022, at Loving Residents in Red Wing. Betty (Betterly) Anderson was born August 25th 1932, to Earnest & Myrtle(Perkins) Betterly in Red Wing. She was baptized and confirmed in the Chetek River by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended Red Wing Schools. She graduated in 1950 from Red Wing Central High.

She was united in marriage on January 19th 1952 to Donald Anderson in Welch, MN. They went on to raise 7 children.  Scott( Cheri) Anderson, Larry ( Marie Prigge) Anderson, Ricky Anderson, Konnie( Mike) Prihara, Alan Anderson, Sharon( Rick) Reichstadt. She was a proud grandmother and great grandmother to Tessa( Sam) Blue, Brock Anderson, Travis( Becky) Prihara, Brady Anderson, Cole Anderson, Luke( Sarah) Prihara, Tori(Nick Jackson) Reichstadt, Austin( Stephanie) Anderson, Elliott Anderson,  Taylor( Ryan) Nyenhuis, Easton ( Alexis) Anderson, Zac Reichstadt.  She had 7 great grandchildren and one on the way.   

After the passing of Donald on January 9th 1975, Betty held several different retail jobs while caring for her young family. You may have run into her at Braschler's, Pamida, Kmart or a bank around town over the years. She enjoyed her family, her neighborhood girlfriends and playing cards at card club. She was also a member of First Lutheran Church.

Preceding Betty in death was her husband, Donald, son, Tony and daughter-in-Law ,Sharon. Along with her parents, sister and brothers.

She will be laid to rest with Donald and Tony on Friday, July 22nd, 2:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing MN. 

A celebration of life will follow at The St. James Hotel- Laurentine room,  3pm-5:30pm. All are welcome to both gatherings. 

We want to give special thanks to Andrea and all the staff at Loving Residents for all their love and care they gave to Betty.
