Bettie's obituary
We regret to announce the passing of Bettie Blecke. Born on March 12, 1945, Bettie lived a full, vibrant life until her departure on March 21, 2024. She graced us with her presence, her compassion, and commitment to the noble causes she cherished, and her legacy will endure in the hearts of those she influenced.
Bettie was a woman of many admirable traits, best described as loving, caring, sincere, intelligent, and compassionate. Through the years, she won the admiration, respect, and love of those fortunate to have crossed paths with her.
For Bettie, life was all about gaining wisdom and nurturing one's spirit and health. She was a conspiracy theorists to the tenth power and she was right! She was an ardent fan of health, anti-aging and alternative medicine and spent considerable time researching these areas. Bettie believed in the healing power of the mind and body and often engaged in healing and meditation exercises.
She had an undying love for travel, with New Orleans -Mardi Gras and Mexico being her favorite vacation spots. Bettie's love of color was reflected in her preference for blue, a color that matched her vibrant spirit and calming demeanor.
Bettie passionately cared about the Sweet Children Foundation and was constantly involved in bettering the lives of the less fortunate. Her greatest accomplishments lay in the invisible yet impactful acts of kindness she routinely performed; caring for children and animals.
Bettie is survived by her nephew, Virgil Roland, who, along with her friends, family, and neighbors, will miss her dearly. Her legacy is a rich tapestry of kindness, love, and compassion, and her lessons of promoting kindness and spreading love and peace will continue to inspire and guide us.
In the wake of her passing, let's remember Bettie's life message: "Be kind to each other. Spread love and peace." May her soul rest in peace as we strive to honor her memory by living out her message.
