Betty's obituary
We regret to announce that Betty Jean Carlson has left us to be with the Lord. She was, and her memory still is, a beacon of warmth, kindness, fun, and joy to those who have known her. Born on August 2, 1930, Betty's wonderful life journey came to a peaceful end on February 26, 2025.
After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN in 1948, Betty walked a life path that was populated by those she held dear. Her greatest joy came from her family, both immediate and extended, who admired her nurturing spirit and infectious personality.
She is survived by her beloved sons Stephen Wayne Carlson, Scott Alan Carlson, and Martin Richard Carlson, and darling daughter Julie Rae Moss, her daughters-in-law Vikki Carlson, Lauren Carlson, and Ping Carlson, and her son-in-law Lewis Moss. The love she held for her family extends to her cherished grandchildren, Alexander Carlson, Rita Carlson, and Lynae Carlson. Her absence is deeply felt by all.
Betty had a great love for the games of Scrabble and Quiddler, spending many memorable moments in tense competition with family and friends. As a huge supporter of the Vikings Football team, she was often found cheering them on with enthusiasm, and occasionally jumping up and down in front of the television during the big games.
Her greatest lessons to those around her encompassed the values of love and forgiveness. She exemplified these qualities throughout her life, leaving a lasting legacy of grace and lovingkindness. Her warm smile, her joyful demeanor, her endless capacity for love - these are the qualities that made Betty the extraordinary woman that she was. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, as we remember her in our hearts.
