Betsey (Howell) Rowe, born October 2, 1942, with great heartache for her loved ones, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Her spirit was released while surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Gini, at her home in Rockford, IL. Betsey had the ability to easily connect with others to make them feel accepted and loved. She was endlessly supportive of her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother known as “Aya” to her grandchildren. Betsey was an avid reader and exhibited a love for learning about a variety of issues, though mostly history and humanitarian topics, as well as the diversity in the world. Survived by her four children: James Rowe III (Pamela), Jennifer Uvario (Jorge), Elizabeth Davis (Damion), and Katherine Rowe (Michael Denk), her eleven grandchildren: Nathan and Bryan Uvario; Ethan, Josh, and Abbey Rowe; Simon, Oliver, Francesca, and Estelle Davis; Sylvia and Fiona Rowe-Denk; Brother, David Howell (Nan). She was predeceased by her husband James Rowe Jr. (1991); Mother, Elizabeth Howell (1998). Betsey grew up in Oak Park, IL, and began raising her family there. She later moved to Woodridge, IL before moving to her home in Rockford, IL.
