Beth's obituary
1952-2021
Beth Pettibone, age 69, passed away at Riverside Hospital on Wednesday, October 13, at 2:45 pm. Beth is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy May Pettibone, and is survived by her brother Mike, and father, John Mahlon Pettibone.
Her father John offers the following eulogy;
“My daughter Beth Anne was a truly fine person- one whom I loved admired, and respected greatly. She believed in and practiced love, support and kindness toward all animals, humans and others who needed her. Many dozens of almost-failing school children and stray pet dogs and cats had their lives turned around by her compassionate efforts. Without Beth, the world is a less kindly place to all God’s creatures.”
Beth loved children and worked for many years as an elementary school teacher in the Columbus area. She will be fondly be remembered for her many years of compassionate care for her aging parents.
Beth’s own final years were spent in a heroic struggle with Parkinson’s disease. She passed away unexpectedly due to a related medical complication. Beth had sought alternative treatments for her Parkinson’s, which caused her to accrue significant debt upon her passing. The Pettibone family would ask, in lieu of flowers, that friends may honor Beth by contributing to the following Beth Pettibone Memorial Fund.
