Beth's obituary

Beth Jenifer Hamm was born on November 12, 1967 in Liberal, KS to Loren and Marge Hamm of Hooker, OK. She was the 3rd of 4 children.  Her siblings are Stanley Jon Hamm, Brenda Jane (Hamm) Cannon and Stefani Joy (Hamm) Starkey. Beth went to grade school (K-8) at Adams Grade School in Adams, OK then to Hooker High School in Hooker, OK graduating in 1986.

She made some lifelong friends there who visited her in Perryton over her last few years of life. Her Christian foundation was established in the Adams Mennonite Brethren Church in Adams. When the family moved to Victory Center in Guymon, OK, she attended their youth group and then became involved in its leadership, summer camps and other various activities. She learned piano at a young age and played basketball in school. Summer hours were spent helping on the farm by driving tractor or wheat trucks during harvest and tent camping family vacations to Colorado with the Schrag cousins were a highlight at the end of summer.

In the 1970's the Hamm family performed concerts as the "House of Theophilus" in area churches and events. Beth had a heart to minister to others through music, leading people into the presence of God. She led Praise and Worship in Victory Center for many years and also wrote many songs which led to her professional recording of original songs on her album entitled "Yes Beth".  She worshipped with a heart of humility and gratitude.  Anyone who attended a church service when she was leading worship can tell you that by the end of most songs, she was playing the keyboard with only one hand as the other was lifted high.

For several years she ran a hair salon first in Adams, then in Guymon and was a master hair braider according to family members.

On December 28, 1997 she married Eric Elliott and moved to a ranch south of Turpin, OK where she had 3 children, Savannah, Jedidiah and Jessie. Life on the ranch consisted of homeschooling her children, moving cattle, hunting and spending time riding horses in the pastures.

In late 2018, she started developing symptoms of NMO and soon moved to Capstone Healthcare of Perryton, Texas. After approximately six and one-half years with the disease, she went home to heaven on April 8, 2025.  She was proceeded in death by the following: Brother Stan in 1992, Daddy Loren in 1995, grandparents Jake and Agatha Hamm, and Ed and Alma Enns and Father-in-law Bearl Elliott.  She is survived by her husband Eric, children Savannah, Jedidiah, and Jessie of Turpin; Mother Marge of Meade, KS; sisters Brenda of Meade and Stef of Harrison, NE and mother-in-law Josephine Elliott of Griggs, OK.
