Beth's obituary
Beth Carolyn Burke (1944 – 2025)
Beth Carolyn Burke passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on January 29, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. She was 80 years old.
Beth was born in San Francisco in 1944 and raised in Palo Alto, California. She attended Gonzaga University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Art in 1965. While studying abroad in Florence, she met Patrick Burke. They fell in love and, after graduation, married and moved to Seattle, where they built a life together and raised their two sons, Matthew and Brian.
Beth was a gifted artist, endlessly creative in painting, illustration, jewelry design, and home and garden aesthetics. Her artwork is displayed in private collections and businesses throughout the Seattle area. Later in life, she developed a passion for fine collage, creating a distinctive body of work that has been exhibited across the city. She found inspiration in nature, travel, and the beauty of everyday life.
Beyond her artistry, Beth was known for her deep compassion, brilliant sense of humor, free spirit, and healing touch. She built a decades-long career as a massage therapist, providing care and comfort to generations of clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. She was devoted to her work and continued to see clients and create art until the very end.
Beth is survived by her two sons, their wives, and her four grandchildren.
Beth’s warmth, creativity, and generous spirit touched so many. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. A private memorial will be held in April to celebrate her life.
