Bessie's obituary
Bessie Mae Medlock was born October 23, 1936, in Mingo County, West Virginia. Bessie loved family get-togethers, holidays , and cheering for her beloved Vikings. Bessie loved to laugh, she had a keen sense of humor. She loved Westerns, and for many years she was tuned in to her soap operas, most specifically Young and the Restless (Go Victor!). She enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, word finds, and she loved movies and music. Bessie also loved horse races, she never bet, but said she liked the muscle tone of the horses. She loved art, especially African Art and sculptures. Most of all she loved her family. Our beloved Bessie (whom was affectionately known as Aunt B, Grandma Bessie, Mom) was called home on February 17, 2026.
Bessie is survived by her son, Thomas Medlock, grandchildren Jarrod Beard Sr., Undre’a Patterson, Robert Trussell II., and Bionca Patterson, Shavanta Davis, Steven Davis, great grandchildren Eddie Saunders, Tre’ Medlock, Brea Medlock, Journey Medlock, Jarrod Beard Jr., Japrian Beard, Zariah Beard, Savioun Loshe, great great grandchildren Celeste Sanders, Essence Sanders, Dior C. Davis, Shavanta Davis, Steven Davis, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Shad and Pinkie Medlock, her uncle Percy, her niece Kelly, sisters, Arizona, Mary, and Christine, her brothers, Willie, Eddie, ,Johnnie, sister-in-law, Jeri, fur babies Mr. Louis, Pierre and Nippy.
