We so miss our special Bert! We are celebrating her life tonight with a special dinner at a restaurant and I know we will all feel her presence. She was a very, very lovely lady.! We love you, Bert!

I am honored to have been part of Bert's story of love and generosity of spirit, time, and resources! Despite not being biologically related, Aunt Bert was always such a special part of my childhood. My parents, Carol and Wally, were friends with Marty and Bert first, and as I grew into an adult, I excitedly found that we had become friends ourselves! She always had a smile on her face when she saw you and greeted you with a kiss right on the lips - never leaving you in doubt about how much she cared about you. It was a comfort knowing she was out there affecting other people's lives in such a profound way, and it truly was a shock when I heard she had passed. Eighty years somehow doesn't feel long enough with a light like hers. But her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her! At her memorial, I met so many people who felt the same way about her that I do. Of course we never wanted to let her go, but being together with people who also feel the weight of her absence was a welcome comfort. We will miss you, Auntie Bert!

My condolences to Bertha's family. I first met Bertha when I was in my early teens. My parents bought the cottage next to Marty in the late 70's. We spent a lot of summers up north over the years. What a wonderful person, Bert you will truly be missed. With love, Scott and Glenda Reid.

Sorry to hear of Bertha's passing. We met at LHE in the ninth grade. Bertha had a beautiful smile that light her whole face when she began to speak. I hope to see her again in our next life.

Bertha was such a funny and caring friend. Her school spirit was infectious and you always had a good time when Bertha was around. May she be enjoying life and joy in heaven.
