Bernie's obituary
After a long battle with depression, complicated by the loss of his beloved wife, Bernard Allen Patrick Kenzakowski, 41, of Havertown, succumbed to his broken heart and joined the love of his life in heaven on December 8, 2021.
Bernie was born and raised in West Chester, PA. He attended Sts Philip and James School and graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School in 1998. He was a graduate of Pierce College in 2012. Bernie worked as an Accountant for Allan Myers Construction, who has continuously supported Bernie through all of his hardships. Bernie had a personality that brought joy to anyone who met him. His hugs were encompassing and comforting; his smile, warm and inviting, His passion for equality of humans resonated with how he lived his life everyday. He enjoyed spending time with his girls, especially as a family prior to his wife’s untimely death. He found happiness with a guitar in his arms and beamed with pride when he would show off his collection of instruments. He was an avid Star Wars fan. There wasn’t a season that he wasn’t at Citizens Bank Park watching a Phillies game. He was a true animal lover, especially of his dog, Action, and cats, Coqueta and Sanchez. He will be truly missed by so many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kenzakowski, Sr., father-in-law, Carl Hinchey, and wife, Mariesa Hinchey.
Bernie leaves behind two gorgeous, resilient daughters, Julia Marie and Violet Ann Kenzakowski. He is also survived by his mother, Maureen Chandler Kezakowski, mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Christine (Kayfield) and Gregory Leonard and step-mother-in-law, Karen (Delany) Hinchey. He will be greatly missed by his siblings Donald Kenzakowski, Jr, (Michele). Leo Kenzakowski (Sarah), Maura Pisano (John), Becky Kenzakowski, Maggie Cassel (Troy) and Neal Kenzakowski (Stephanie). His wisdom and devotion will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Mary, Benjamin, Dominic, Bernadette, Joe, Jack, Rosie, Alex, Nick, Molly, Grace and Olivia. He also leaves behind many adoring and supportive friends that have been true treasures and gifts to Bernie throughout his life journey.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Road, Broomall, PA. Visitors are welcome 9:30 AM-10:30 AM on Friday, December 17, 2021 with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, Havertown, PA. Burial to follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S Gulph Rd, King of Prussia, PA.
