It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernice Sally Lynn Doyle (Kochel) known by many simply as Nicie, who passed away on May 12th at the age of 68. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.


Bernice was born on December 21st 1956 in Vancouver to her adoptive parents Herbert & Helen Kochel.  In 1979 Bernice moved to Richmond with her spouse Paul, where they raised their three children. Although she held many professions over her lifetime, including being a nurse at Richmond General Hospital and an administrator at BC Women’s Hospital her favourite job was Grandma!

Bernice is survived by her Sons Jason (Julie), Blake, & Dewey, her Granddaughters Ava & Cordelia, and her Sister Barbara.


A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27th, 2025 at 1:00pm at Harris Barn in Ladner B.C.
