Year 2016/17...
Greenlinks Community, Lely Resort, Naples FL

I was very blessed to be introduced to Bernie as a neighbor of mine in Greenlinks. He rented off a good friend of mine Sami Abed who owned several units in Greenlinks. Sami introduced me to Bernie as a neighbor and we became friends instantly. We could call each other in times of need, but knew that we were neighbors. I got to know Bernie and his son Paul when he visited and other members who came to Naples. Another friend of Sami and I was Jean Eastwood or Betty Jean Ferguson..same last name of all things as Jean was Miss Canada 1948 and we all would meet for lunch or meet out and just socialize as we all had ties to Greenlinks and were all tied with some similarity or two. Jean had two units here. I had just moved from Colorado to put my daughter thru college the Art Institute of Ft Lauderdale and was a resident of Florida.

Bernie always wanted to suggest ideas to help my daughter where he had connections. He took an interest in my daughter's success as an artist..and always would encourage me with her...and gave me some contacts that could or might help someday. He introduced me to Paul as a way to get ideas about a national success story that I was involved in as Bernie always had ways to help. We always had time to talk and exchange ideas..and he was always a happy soul with making you realize we all had bright future.

I was called to fix his computer that would not talk to the internet..and somehow with my limited knowledge was able to pull off a fix..that worked until Paul would come down..Bernie made my life happier, more informed and more involved with words of wisdom to look to better times that are coming... He had good views and we would have deep intellectual discussions which are few and far between as we had good times sharing views.

I was saddened to hear about Bernie's passing but can say he made my life happier knowing an accomplished and super educated and successful man. He did it all with hard work ethic as I can tell and really is someone that I will always remember as I said and will say again..I was blessed to have met and get to know Bernie even in the short time that we had together. He had a positive influence in knowing him as I am sure he has had to those that met him.

I send my sympathy to the Family and to all that knew Bernie..as his generation will be no more in this crazy world!
