Happy Birthday Dr. Bercu.   I know you are loved and missed by so many friends, colleagues and students.  D.r Bercu will always be in my heart.  Thank you for posting this reminder of his birth date so I can reflect with gratitude all Dr. Bercu meant to so many of us.

I am sorry to learn of Dr. Bercu’s passing.  He was such a great man in so many ways.  His kindness, his medical knowledge, his compassion.  I am so grateful to have decided to do my Medical Residency at St Joseph Hospital.  My decision was driven primarily by geographic proximity, though  I’d heard a bit about Dr. Bercu prior to meeting him.  What a fortunate decision I’d made to train at St. Joe’s!  Such an off the scale brilliant medical clinician.  A kind, humble and very knowledgeable physician and teacher.  I became the physician that I did mainly due to Dr Bercu’s knowledge, teaching, example and tutelage. I have been blessed throughout my career due to the imprint I received from Dr. Bercu.  I am sorry that I was not aware of and never experienced his Tap Dancing,  learning that aspect of the man  makes me smile big and admire the man even more! Lenore I am sorry to not be able to be at the July 20 celebration due to a previous commitment that day.  Know that he is in my heart and I wish I could be there for this  moment with you and the rest of the gang to celebrate this man and all that he was to all of us.  God Bless Bernie and God Bless you Lenore!
