Bernadine's obituary
Bernadine Klusman (Prisuda), cherished matriarch, was born on May 25, 1945, and peacefully passed away on November 20, 2024. Her vibrant personality, strong spirit, and invaluable wisdom greatly impacted the lives of family, friends, and those who had the privilege of getting to know her.
She is survived by her loving spouse, Kelvin Gehri, and their extended family which includes her daughters, Debra (Jeffrey) Schellinger and Heidi Klusman; step-children, Doug Gehri and Gina (Alan) Gehri-Flowers; and grandchildren, Paige (Russell) Farr, Allison (Daniella) Rossi, Antonio and Victoria Covelli, Sabrina Sisqo, Jarvis Schellinger, Au'Brianna Riordan, Gi'Onna Farr, Avalyn Lauritsen, and Kingston Farr. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael Prisuda and Leona Wendler, and siblings, Audrey Allen, Donald Prisuda, Josette Cola, and Sandra Frailing.
Those who knew Bernadine intimately recall her fondness for Lifetime and Hallmark channels. The cheesy predictable movies always seemed to captivate her attention, creating loving memories for her family who watched with her. Her choices of indulgence were Hot Cheetos, Takis, cold water, and Coke without ice, along with Arizona half and half tea.
A dedicated viewer of 'The Walking Dead' and 'Days of our Lives', her favorite films included 'Fast & Furious' and 'Twister'. She enthusiastically supported the Green Bay Packers and engaged in competitive games of solitaire.
Bernadine enjoyed her quiet time watching tv on her couch while a candle was lit. As a younger woman, she loved camping, but as she aged, she became a contented homebody who relished in the simple pleasure of being at home. A local favorite place of hers was Holy Hill.
Bernadine's infectious personality was best described as open-minded, funny, and loving, but she valued her alone time. She had an inherent love for the colors green and purple.
Her life's philosophy was to always be there for family and her legacy will remain as one of kindness, and the encouragement to be oneself and never judge. Hers was a life filled with the joy of being a grandmother, and this stands as one of her greatest accomplishments. Bernadine will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, as to know her was to love her.
