It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadette Monta, who departed from this life on August 25, 2025. Bunni, born on May 25, 1944, was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and happiness to all who had the privilege to know her.

Bunni’s incredible legacy of love and kindness will be remembered fondly and carried forward by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Debra McDermott and her daughter-in-law, Veronica Gober-Monta. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her grandchildren, Tiffani (Thoy), Siena, and Avery Chanthavong and Cohan McDermott. Who were recipients of her limitless love and wisdom.

Her infectious smile and gracious spirit continue to live in the memories of those she left behind. As her family and friends mourn her passing, they also celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who contributed so much joy and warmth to their lives.

Bernadette was predeceased by her dear sons, David and Charles Monta, her beloved sister, Darline Bailey, and her cherished niece, Michelle Bailey. Their sweet reunion in the afterlife offers a sense of solace during this sorrowful time.

Bunni’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched. For those who knew Bernadette, her kindness was her trademark, her love her legacy, and her joy her gift to the world. May her soul find eternal peace and her memory continue to inspire kindness and love.

The family will be holding a small private celebration of life.
