Bernadette's obituary

Bernadette Sieh Chin, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22nd, surrounded in love by her family. She was born on March 3, 1947 in Shanghai, China to Joseph T.H. and Maria G.W. Sieh. She grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil and came to the United States for college. She worked in laboratory services and diagnostics for over 30 years.

Bernie was a dynamic, passionate and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her smile and laugh were contagious and she always believed in living life to the fullest and in trusting God’s will. She courageously fought breast cancer for 5 years with continuous strength, grace and a positive attitude.

She is survived by her husband, William; 3 daughters, Jennifer, Caroline and Stephanie; 5 grandchildren, Thomas, Elsa, Olivia, Maggie and Jack; 12 brothers and sisters, Vivian, Tom, Molia, John K, Anne, Joe, John B, Terry, Luiz, Celia, Jim, and Paul; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends, family and others whose lives Bernie has touched are invited to celebrate and honor her life on Friday, August 2nd at Church of the Transfiguration in Tarrytown, NY.
