How you can help
He pūnāwai kahe wale ke aloha. (Love is a spring that flows freely.)
***UPDATE: MAHALO TO MY SISTERS MARA BAKER AND DESIREE TELLEZ FOR THE BLESSING AND GIFTS! WAITING ON THE FINAL COSTS FROM THE MORTUARY, BUT (SPARING THE DETAILS) MOM'S CREMATION WILL BE COVERED! THE FUNDS FROM THIS FUNDRAISER WILL BE USED TOWARDS ANY ADDITIONAL FEES FROM THE MORTUARY AND FOR FOOD/FLOWERS AT THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE.***
We are asking for your financial assistance with arranging the Celebration of Life for my family. Our mother passed away without any life insurance or saved finances to assist with being able to provide her a loving memorial service. We are hoping to provide her a beautiful service and will hopefully be able to secure the funds for a burial, per her wishes (as far as we believe, Mom did not like to discuss these types of manners... ever.).
Since childhood, my family has always fallen into the low-income classification; the only source of income came from government financial assistance programs (in latter years of Mom’s life, pain and diabetes prevented her from being physically able to work leading to an addition of disability assistance). I have bargained and tried my hardest to make Mom’s service as affordable as possible. The $5200 goal of this fundraiser is the total cost of the charges from the funeral home, including the budget-friendly casket option, a closed-casked gravesite service, and private 30 minute viewing for immediate family. It is not the ideal ceremony I wanted to provide and create, but it’s budget-friendly.
We are trying my best to remain positive and are trying to stay hopeful that the finances will be all “okay.” I would be deeply crushed and saddened after all this grief and sadness, we have to cancel services and not give Mom our final goodbye of closure. Mahalo for your support, love, and positivity during this difficult time. Contribute
