Benny served his post as an ESA going places with his vest and license collar. He wore his uniform proudly, no matter what his condition. He was loving at home, regardless of his condition and always welcomed comfort and closeness and lots of love. He slept most of the day. Weeks ago, I took notice that he looked more tired in his face and energy level, so I went out far, far less. Spending most of our time at home the last about three weeks of his life, he spent most of the day sleeping. He would not allow us to leave the house without his notice, so he kept his interest. So, either Patrick or myself always stayed home with him. I learned so much from him. His grace and love restored us and gave us back a home - better than ever. Words cannot express what he gave us. He restored us to wholeness. Even though we only had a short time with him, his impact was life-long. We didn't save his life - instead, he saved ours.
