Benny's obituary
Benny graduated from Istrouma High School in May of 1963, and he would get married to his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Judy High, just four months later. Benny suffered a tramatic loss just three weeks after the wedding when his mother unexpectedly in October 1963.
Benny began working for trucking companies in 1964 and eventually retired from Central Freight Lines in 2002. Benny began working at Lowe's Hardware Store in Slidell in June of 2005 and remained there until his last day.
Benny & Judy gave birth to two sons, Benny Jr. "Doug" & Gary. Their two sons would go on to give Benny grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Benny leaves behind his girlfriend & life-long friend, Linda Gonzalez of Baton Rouge, his youngest son Gary Brister (Melanie) of Pearl River, his 4 grandchildren Karley Brister (Kyle) of Slidell, Joshua "Josh" Brister, Dakota "Kody" Brister & Olivia Brister all of Pearl River. He leaves his memory also with 3 Great Grandchildren: Mia Brister, Bryson Boudreaux & Zaylen Brister and another on the way, Kohen Ruegg, all of Slidell. He leaves behind nephews, Rick Brister & Robert Brister, Jr. both of Texas, a niece Deborah Brister Ketteringham of Mississippi, and a vast host of friends as well.
Benny was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Judy Lynn Brister, his parents, Jessie E. Brister & DoraBell (Rockhold) Brister. And his brothers, Arthur James "A.J." Brister & Robert Earl Brister, Sr.
D.T. Williams Funeral Home are in charge of a arrangements. A memorial date will be planned for a later date next week.
