Benjamin's obituary
Benjamin Lynn Wright, age 73 (formally of Grafton, MA) passed away on Thursday, January 9th, 2025 at home in Sun City West, Arizona surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.
Benjamin was born on June 26, 1951 in Ogdensburg, NY to the late Benjamin C. Wright and Ellen (Harper) Wright. He is the eldest of five children and graduated Morristown Central School in 1969. Benjamin went on to settle in Grafton, MA where he raised his family before relocating to northern Washington in 2010. Benjamin spent his finally years in Sun City West, AZ after relocating there in July 2023.
Benjamin is survived by his lovely bride of fourteen years, Laurel. His daughters, Andrea Stump and her husband Eric of Millbury, Kerry Wright of Sanford, NC, Heather Wright-Craft of Shrewsbury, Kimberly Elder and her husband Jason of Northbridge, Sarah Campbell and Rachel Campbell of Belfair, WA. Benjamin also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Amanda, Susan, Jessika, Brenden, Katelynn, Dakota, Kyle, Zachary, Riley, Emily and two great grandchildren: Claire and Dominic of whom he adored.
Benjamin considered himself a jack of all trades and a master of none. He began his career as a welder and through the years was a truck driver for various local companies. In recent years he was employed by local school bus companies as a mechanic, bus driver and fuel truck operator.
Benjamin was best described as a gentle giant. His size and stature could be intimidating to many but his heart and generosity were truly immeasurable. He will be remembered for his love of the NY Giants and Yankees and Sunday football which he referred to as “football day in America.” Benjamin enjoyed his time in Washington where he was able to bear arms and conduct target practice at his convenience wearing his favorite camouflage attire everywhere. Benjamin would freely talk politics with anyone and welcomed opposing educated opinions.
The family invites you to join in a celebration of life ceremony on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11am at the VFW 16 S Main Street Millbury MA. The family encourages attendees to wear camouflage or football attire in Benjamin’s honor.
