One of the things I remember so much about Bengy was his happy personality!  If something upset him, he didn't let it get him down for long.  He usually had a smile on his face and enjoyed laughing about things in general.  He believed in not giving up and had creative ways of doing things.  One of my favorite memories is of him talking about how  he and my sister, Lisa(his fiance) liked to sing together.  They especially enjoyed gospel songs like I'LL FLY AWAY.  I remember coming by and he had been working on his truck for most of the day.  After talking for a bit, he broke in to THE OLD RUGGED CROSS and I joined in, right there in the front yard!  He had a great voice!  Last year for his birthday dinner, I picked up dinner for him and Lisa.  He wanted fried chicken livers and okra and "a BIG chocolate cake!!"  It was so much fun to see his face   when I came up with it!  I love him and I miss him and Lisa so much!!  I know they are celebrating his birthday in HEAVEN!   Darlene Watson

My heart breaks for Benjy's family, I'm his cousin Lorrie. I just found out about Benjy and my heart is broken. I wish I had known at the time but I lost my husband of 34 years to Cancer in April, I've been in deep grief. I will miss his comments and messages to lift my spirits. He was definitely one of a kind. I love you and my sweet cousin. I will never forget the good times we had, here in Rossville, Ringgold and when we lived in Marietta. I had always wished I had met your dad Vernon to thank him for sharing you with us. Fly high with the Angels, and if you see my son, my daughter and hubby Michael, give them all a big hug from me. I promise we will all see each other again and rejoice in heaven. I love you.

Bengy,

You are one in a billion.   You always had a happy attitude and a sweet smile.  I remember listening to you

sing The Old Rugged Cross in the front yard.  You said that one of the songs that you and Lisa liked to

sing together was I'll Fly Away.  I'll bet that the two of you are singing all over Heaven together now.

Both of you left us too soon.  Love you both very much!   Darlene
