Benjamin's obituary

Benjamin Joseph Theis, age 45, passed away on February 2nd, 2022 in Grove City, Ohio. He was born December 28th, 1976 to parents Joseph and Rebecca (Rutherford) in Findlay, Ohio. He graduated from St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria, Ohio and then continued his education at Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio where he obtained his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. Ben went on to become an esteemed Executive Chef; sharing his talent working at several hotels downtown Columbus and state park resorts, including Mohican State Park, where he met his wife, Clare. More recently, Ben changed industries to enjoy more time with his family. In 2019 Ben joined Cap City Property Inspections, where he acted as lead inspector and quickly became one of the most reputable home inspectors in Columbus.

Ben had a passion for gardening and was always cooking delicious meals, smoking meat, and sharing what he grew with friends, neighbors and coworkers. He absolutely cherished the moments spent with his daughter and wife, who were the center of his world. Ben was a loyal husband, father, son, brother, and friend and was always someone you could count on.

Ben will forever be remembered and loved by his wife Claire (Schrack); daughter Cybil; parents Joe and Becky; sister Nikol Theis; father in-law and mother-in-law Gail Hall, brother-in-law Dan (Sarah); as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10th from 11:00AM-1:00PM, followed by a 1:00PM service at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin OH 43017.

In lieu of flowers, a trust will be created for Cybil, where memorial donations can be made.
