Benjaman's obituary
Ben was a glowing beacon of positivity and light. Whether it was his compelling storytelling, lighthearted jokes, or sharing genuine thoughts on life and love, spending time with Ben was always a joy. Hearing his contagious jovial laughter was like medicine for the soul and anyone who was lucky enough to encounter him left with good memories and a full heart.
During Ben’s formative years he spent his summers at scout camp and became so passionate about the scouts that he returned for many years as a camp counselor offering guidance, support, and lighthearted fun to every young camper. He was the star of the show in so many camp skits, with his energetic captivating performances he would have audiences rolling with laughter. One of Ben’s greatest joys was making people laugh, and he was so good at it, he spread happiness wherever he went.
Ben had such a big heart and was always there to lend strength when others needed it. He would give all he had to help anyone struggling. Ben loved freely and forgave even those who may not have deserved it. But that was who he was. He was unequivocally a beautiful soul with his heart open for all who needed love or someone to lean on.
He had a way of connecting with people that is so rare. Young or old he would make you feel heard and seen. As an uncle, his nieces and nephews loved spending time with him. He truly loved connecting with little ones, whether jabbering and having a full conversation with a toddler, or playing make believe, he made an impact of sharing joy as a caring uncle.
Ben had a passion for music, many happy memories were shared around a piano where he would play everything from classical, to ragtime, and show tunes. Many a night was spent singing Phantom of the Opera with his beautiful voice.
Ben was an amazing brother, son, uncle, cousin, friend, and above all else, a good person. He left a legacy of kindness, laughter, generosity, and an open heart for whoever he encountered. The world feels the weight of his loss.
