Ben's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ben Stimpson, born on November 30, 1978. We lost Ben too soon on August 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. He was a songwriter, a professional footballer, and a man full of wit, caring, and humility. His ability to make others feel good about themselves was unparalleled, and his laughter was infectious.
Ben is survived his devoted and loving wife, Joanne Stimpson; and his beloved children, Teddy and Lily Stimpson, and by his loving father, Bruce Stimpson; and adoring mother, Gaye Bailey and his 95 year old Grandmother in England, who adored Ben and his humour. In 2023, Ben made the decision to move to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he enjoyed the warmth and vibrant culture.
A man of varied interests, Ben loved Mexican food and savored his beer. He was a fan of Tottenham Hotspurs and demonstrated his competitive spirit in any game that could make others laugh. His favourite performances to attend were concerts, no doubt a nod to his passion for music and songwriting. He made friends easily, both in business and socially6, and could tell some of the silliest jokes, but always made everyone laugh.
Ben enjoyed spending recreational time with his family, whether it was visiting favourite vacation spots in Florida and Mexico or exercising at the gym. Locally, he loved watching soccer games and engaging in the community and coaching kids soccer. Above all, Ben deeply cared about his family, always putting them first in whatever he did.
One of Ben's proudest accomplishments was playing professional football for Wolverhampton Wanderers. His drive and dedication to professionalism were not only reflected in his career, where he loved all of the companies he worked for, but also shone brightly in every aspect of his life. His spirit and legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished.
Ben Stimpson will be missed tremendously by his family, friends, and acquaintances. May his soul rest in peace.
