Ben Wayne France (April 13, 1941 – December 31, 2024)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ben Wayne France on December 31, 2024. Ben was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Born in Casper, Wyoming, on April 13, 1941, Ben spent his early years in California before returning to Wyoming after high school. On May 8, 1976, he married Barbara, the love of his life. Together, they built a life on Cottonwood Ranch in Alcova, where they shared many happy years until Barbara’s passing in 2020.

Ben is preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara. He is survived by his children: Pennie Morgan, Debra Colvin, Renee France, and Faith France; his grandchildren: Ty Colvin, Katrina Dahl, Ben Wilhelm, Taylor Morgan, and Ali Morgan; and his great-grandchildren: Carter Colvin and Maggie Mullen.

A casual memorial service will be held this summer, with details to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Ben’s memory by petting a cow or feeding the deer—simple acts that reflect his down-to-earth spirit.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
