To his family, I am very sorry to hear of Ben's passing. Ben was such a nice person, smart in his field, and he will be missed. 

I am sure there are hundreds of Ben stories/impressions like this one but wanted to share mine: I met Ben several years ago at an "Indofiltration" lunch with a couple of other BCRA young-at-the-time engineers. We worked on a number of projects together over the years, though not recently.  I remember that lunch in particular because Ben was so earnest, and pretty fired up about surface water and groundwater flow, 'getting it right' in terms of how surface water modeling should represent site conditions. I was very impressed with his passion about stormwater / hydrology modeling, and improving the profession.
