Beatrice's obituary
On March 2, 2025, our beloved grandmother Beatrice (Beckie) Looney, aged 85, peacefully passed away on her eternal journey. She was born on April 15, 1939, to the late Thelmer and Alma Ellis, and was a lifelong resident of the Visalia community. Beatrice was warmly known for her welcoming, friendly, kind, happy, sweet, loving, and giving personality.
Beatrice was predeceased by her ex-husband, Jack Cantrell, her husband, Emery Looney, her beloved daughter, Teresa Cantrell, her siblings Vera Gallamore, Edith Ellis, Paul Ellis, Dorothy Ellis, and Orville Ellis, and her brother-in-law, Clarence Gallamore. She leaves behind an enduring legacy to her surviving family including her brother Marvin Ellis, her sister-in-law Janice Bilbrey, her step-daughter Tracy Yale, her grandchildren Michael Davidson, Matthew Davidson, and Amy Davidson, along with great grandchildren Michael Davidson Jr., Landon Davidson, Audrie Rodriguez, Kapri Davidson, and Braedon Searby, and her nieces Linda Anderson and Marlene Trimm.
A proud graduate of Mt. Whitney High School, Class of 1957, Beatrice nurtured a beautiful life with cherished milestones. One of her proudest moments was giving birth to her daughter, Teresa. Her tireless work ethic was displayed during her years at the olive plant. She also loved welcoming her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the world, cherishing every moment she spent with them.
Beatrice's warmth extended to her community, where she was a faithful attendee at New Life Harvest, a Christian place of worship. Beatrice had a love for cooking and some of her favorite foods included pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches, roast, potatoes, fish, and steak. Beatrice also had a love for baking muffins, different types of cookies, and cobblers there was a sense of love in every bite she prepared. She cared deeply about the military and lived her faith through her actions every day.
Pleasure for Beatrice came from simple activities, such as visiting Sandy's hair salon and the beach, listening to Christian music, and watching her favorite TV shows, Reba and the news. Her love for family was evident in her favorite pastime, watching performances of Family Worship Center with pastor Jimmy Swaggart. She had an absolute love for the color yellow and lived her life filled with happiness and love, leaving valuable lessons for us to always love and follow God and to love one another.
We will remember Beatrice for her unwavering faith, her contagious smile, her comforting hugs and kisses, her home-cooked meals, and the selfless way she cared for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faithfulness to God, and a lifetime full of happy memories.
A funeral service in memory of Beatrice will be held on March 15, 2025, at the Visalia Cemetery, with the burial commencing at 10:30 AM followed by a tribute at 12:30 PM. As we share stories and tears, we will celebrate the life of this amazing woman, who will forever remain in our hearts.
