Bear's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bear Harrington, affectionately known as the Dude, on November 14, 2024. Bear was a cherished companion and a vital member of our family for over 13 years. His life was filled with both triumphs and struggles, but through it all, his spirit remained unbreakable. He was the happiest, goofiest dog who made sure we laughed and smiled every single day.

Adopted as a puppy, Bear quickly became a source of endless joy, love, and laughter. From surviving serious health challenges—parvo, pneumonia, kennel cough, and plagued with mini strokes starting at just 5 years old—Bear showed incredible resilience and courage. Despite the difficulties, he never let his ailments diminish his love for his family or his cheerful, goofy personality.

Bear’s love was unwavering and absolutely unconditional. He was a constant source of comfort and security, always by our side. Whether nudging us (hard!) with his nose, batting at us with his paw for attention, offering gentle foot stomps or huffs to make sure we knew he was there, or simply curling up next to us, Bear made sure we always felt his presence. His loyalty was unmatched, and his protective instincts never faltered. His deep, powerful bark ensured that not a stranger would dare get close.

Throughout his 13 years, Bear lived in five different states, adapting to each new chapter of our lives with grace and love. Wherever we went, Bear made every place feel like home. He was always momma’s shadow, our family protector, and our faithful friend, teaching us the true meaning of love, presence, and joy in the everyday moments.

Though Bear is no longer physically with us, his spirit will live on in our memories, the stories we share, and the love he gave us so freely. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Thank you, Bear, for being the best fur baby anyone could ask for. You were, and always will be, the Goodest Goodest Boy.

Rest in peace, my sweet Bear, my guy, my baby boy. You will forever be loved, always remembered, and eternally missed.
