Barry A. Smith Sr. "Moon" passed away on Thursday April 20, 2023 at St. Luke's East hospital in Lee's Summit, MO due to complications of pneumonia and heart failure. Barry was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his passing. He lived most of his life in the New Orleans, La area making him a die hard Saints and LSU football fan. For the last several years he had the opportunity to relocate his home to Raytown, MO, where he lived with several of his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed creating new memories and having exciting experiences with his grandchildren and great grandchildren most of all. Barry was the son of the late Celeste and Robert "Rag Mop" Smith Sr and had 1 surviving sibling and 1 deceased sibling. Barry fathered 2 children, Barry Smith Jr. and the late Karly Lopez. He also left behind 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Barry will be cremated and the family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
