It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barry "Andy" Russell, Sr., fondly known by all as Andy. Born on December 24, 1976 in Chaffee, Mo, he departed from this world on September 16, 2024 at St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

A loving and devoted family man, Andy is survived by his wife, Tabitha Russell, and his children Shantanna Russell (Solomon), Deanika Russell (Aaron), Barry “Drew” Russell, Jr (Misty), Amberlynn Russell, Marianda Russell, Kelby Russell, Philyra Russell, and Delaney Russell. He is also survived by his siblings Maredith (Willie) Salvatore, Nyoka Russell, Lawrence (Lisa) Russell Jr., Jason Palmer, Rafard (Amanda) Russell, Mary Inis Blevins, and Elisabeth Matney. His recent joy was the birth of his grandson, Blake Edward, on August 30, 2024 and he was ecstatic about the upcoming birth of another grandson who will carry the same name as Andy. 

Predeceased by his loving parents, Lawrence Russell, Sr. and Mildred Matney, and his brother, Phillip Matney, his absence leaves an unfillable void.

With his favorite drink, sweet tea, in hand, Andy loved spending his time surrounded by his wife, children, family, and friends. A familiar face at local spot Kidd's on Broadway, he was known for his huge heart and warm presence. For Andy, once he liked you, you were family. His personality was both a testament and a beacon of love and unity, shining brightly in the lives of those he touched.

Andy's passing leaves a void that will not easily be filled. His memory will live on through his wife, children, and large extended family, who will remember him fondly. His laugh, his love, his sincere kindness - these are the things we will hold dear, and in doing so, keep Andy's spirit alive.

 Andy was an organ donor and was able to help many others through his generous donation.

May his soul rest in peace and his memories be a blessing.

A memorial service with family and close friends will be at a later date.
